Preventative health through vegetarianism and meditation was a keynote topic of the Veggie Fest, at the Science of Spirituality Center, Lisle, which drew about 45,000 people locally and internationally.
Medical doctors, nutritionists, and mental health practitioners gave informative and motivational speeches that highlighted research that reveals that a vegetarian diet and meditation can improve our physical, mental, and emotional wellness. The benefits are profound. Through meditating and eating a vegetarian diet studies showed that one can cut the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and some forms of cancer. It can also reduce inflammation which leads to many other illnesses that are preventable.
Along with the health of our body and mind, meditation and eating a plant-based diet contributes to our spiritual well-being.
It is encouraging to see that the response to Veggie Fest held at the Science of Spirituality Center in the Chicagoland area shows that people are focusing on preventative health in the form of a vegetarian diet and meditation for a healthier body, mind, and spirit.
